Cyber Security (Advanced)


Course Overview
This is an advanced level course on cyber security and risk management.
Pre-requisite: Cyber security & risk management (foundational course)
Advanced Level course (32 hours) will provide hands-on practice, with lab exercises, assignments, and project work. Students will have access to MIIM’s cyber security lab hosted in the AWS cloud. The Labs will supplement the lectures to provide a unique learning experience.
The course will prepare students to Certification in Ethical Hacking (CEH).
Topics covered:
- Introduction to Ethical Hacking (1 hour)
- Hacking techniques, Social Engineering (2 hours)
- System Hacking (2 hours)
- Trojans, Backdoors, Viruses, Worms, Sniffers (2 hours)
- Denial of Service Attacks (2 hours)
- Web Servers & Web Applications & Secure Coding (3 hours)
- Wireless Networks (2 hours)
- IDS, Firewalls, Honeypots (2 hours)
- Buffer Overflows –Secure Coding II (2 hours)
- Cryptography (3 hours)
- Network Penetration Testing (3 hours)
Class & Lab exercises (24 hours)
Ethical Hacking, Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Operating System scans, Network penetration testing, application vulnerability scans, secure coding. Various ethical hacking tools will be used as part of this course.
